The 18th to 20th October are the dates that signal the end of the season for the British GP2 championship. The finale takes place at the iconic Brands Hatch circuit, around 100 miles up the road for Andover rider Jake Archer.
The British GP2 is the Moto2 support class of the British Superbike Championship and huge crowds are expected for the final round.
The Brands Hatch circuit is 2.43 miles (3.9 kilometres) with just 3 left hand corners to 8 right-handers.
Archer, the current Moto3 British Champion, switched to the Moto2 format this year and he will be hoping to end the year in a positive way.
After two free practice sessions on Friday, qualifying for the Moto2 class gets underway at 11:35 on Saturday morning. The 30 minute session starts at 11:35. The same day the riders will line up for the Sprint race at 16:45.
The best lap times from the 12 lap race will be used to organise the grid for the Feature Race on Sunday.
On Sunday afternoon, after a brief morning warm up, Archer will return for the 18 lap Feature Race at 15:10.
He is currently 8th in the British GP2 championship series on the Kovara Projects by RS Racing Kalex Moto2 machine.
Jake Archer said,” This season was all about working hard and learning the Kalex Moto2 machine. It has taken longer to understand than we expected. Whilst it has been challenging we have learned a lot. The race result is not really that important because as I said our goal is to learn the bike this season, but the racer in me clearly wants to do as well as possible.”
