Winter Testing didn’t go as planned for Andover’s Jake Archer. The GP2 Team Kovara Projects rider suffered a collarbone injury at the circuit in Almeria. After trip to the local hospital his winter testing came to an abrupt halt.
Whilst it is thought the bone is not broken he clearly couldn’t carry on riding. Archer returns to the UK on Monday and will see the renowned trauma specialist Brian Simpson MCSP DSA (CSP) on Tuesday.
Following on from that Archer will undergo hyperbaric oxygen therapy to aid his recovery. Whilst the loss of track time was a disappointment for the 18-year-old rider, he is expected to be fully fit in time for the first BSB test at Silverstone in three weeks’ time.
